It is rather a vain hope that a significant number of people in a public 
mailing list are going to do anything other than take your postings at face 
value*.  Not much use in trying to be subtle or clever on a mailing list 
(except for your own amusement) - email communication is fraught enough 
without deliberately being obscure as to your intentions ;-)
(Trouble with reading between the lines is that we all take our own meaning 
out of it - probably different from what you intended :-).

So your proposal has been taken as a reasonable suggestion and one that has 
a high possibility of being taken up, not only that but it looks like other 
LUGs might be invited to post their announcements as well - I hope that 
proved your point ;P
