I'm interested. If this is arranged, it is perhaps something we could publicise
(advertise)?
Most professional Linux people I know are not overly interested in Wellylug,
which is seen as an enthusiasts/hobbyists group more than anything appropriate
for professionals. (Not all, I hastily admit :-) This is a step which
associates Wellylug with a (perhaps the) world class Linux training course and
I believe an opportunity for Wellylug to take advantage of.
I imagine DSE would stick up a poster, & maybe a few other local shops/
businesses. I guess we'd need to be pretty quick, but if someone (hint: Jamie B
:-) with more artistic abilities than me put a page together, I could get some
copies printed & get them to a few places.
Nothing overly grandiose, but something promoting Wellylug & Linux (&
Auldhouse) seems like a good idea?
Agree/disagree about this??
On a related note, we have traditionally (well, the last couple anyway) had an
annual installfest in April. I think the workshops/seminars last time were very
successful, as was the rest of the event, & I'd like to see this continue or
expand. Poss with inpput from NZOSS & companies like Auldhouse.
If we are gonna do summat this year, it is prob about time to start
thinking/discussing/planning....
So again, please kick off any comments/suggestions/ideas/concerns about a 2005
Wellylug 'fest.
Cheers,
Brent
