Gidday y'all....
For those who aren't aware of this, (apologies to those who are!), WellyLUG is
running an installfest two weeks after SFD. Details available on
wellylug.org.nz.
Novell NZ has donated (well, they say they are going to) about 30 copies of
SLED10. If anyone else is also planning an installfest associated with SFD,
please let me know ASAP if you are interested in copies for your event. (Of
course you can always download copies, but these should look more professional
:-)
If you do want to have some copies, you might like to add this link to any
website with info about your 'fest (you there Jethro?):

I believe that using a professionally packaged commercial distro such as SLED
adds credibility to FOSS, irresepective of whether you personally prefer
Gentoo, Debian, SLackware or whatever. We found the SUSE Pro packages, complete
with manuals etc, we had from Novell last year made those attending more
trusting in OS when they can see it is not just one or two home-burnt disks
with no documentation. Just like having a book or two on OpenOffice, the GIMP,
etc., present lends credibility to those considering trying FOSS apps, even if
under Windows & not (yet) Linux.
Cheers,
Brent Wood
