we'll carefully follow the LUG rules to cover such situations.

Obviously you don't trust at all.

Why do you trust any such thing? I don't recall any such requirements anywhere
in Wellylug. It's not as if we have a formal treasurer expected to do such
things- or are you suggesting this is more how things should be? Or just
creating new rules as you see fit?

We will probably do it anyway, out of courtesy to the members. Certainly not
because some individual requires it.

However, if some members are now going to require us to manage LUG funds with
"written accounts of expenditure", then I suggest they do it formally through
the LUG & set up a treasurer & accountabilities. Otherwise the usual anarchy
(tempered by courtesy) will be the approach taken. 

So, either _trust_ us to get on with it, or formally set up the rules &
accountabilities we can work to. I'm happy either way, but will not be subject
to ad hoc rules created at the whim of individuals. 

The LUG has repeatedly said no to any rules/requirements. So don't try & foist
some on the members who get off their backsides & try to organise something. 

(Or, at least in my case, the anarchy won't be tempered at all :-)
