I don't know what the problem is all about.

I mean, hasn't the server that WellyLUG's website is hosted on received a
substantial upgrade (about six times faster) as a result of the
anouncement that those PCs were free to a good home?

I think that asking if anybody is interested in having some otherwise
redundant hardware - especially if that hardware is in fully working
condition with LINUX installed on it - is not advertising.

Personally, I would consider that in the same league as asking if anybody
is interested in having a free CD-ROM - especially if LINUX is on it.

WellyLUG is small enough. I don't see why an organisation with only about
30 persons in total attending meetings needs to have THREE mailing lists.

I mean, how many emails a day gets posted to WellyLUG?

A few years ago I belonged to an email list that regularly got in the
region of 60-90 emails EVERY DAY. If WellyLUG's list was *that* large then
I could understand why somebody would get upset at unwanted spam about M$
stuff or about non-linux related conferences, etc.

Now as it happens I've got this twelve-port programmable 3Com
rackmountable mains powered hub that I'm no longer using and if an.....
<choke> .... <eurggg> .... <gasp> ... <gag> ....
