Despite having been one of those who abused the list by adverting in the past,
I'll just say that I agree with and support Ewen's stance on this.

There are plenty of places where people can let others know they wanna get rid
of seel or buy something. I think it would be a sad thing if the WellyLUG list
moved away from what is mostly a Linux/OSS oriented list to cover a wide range
of topics, including advertising.

Courtesy of Tony, WellyLUG does have a list where those interested in
advertising can freely post for those who are interested in seeing such
messages (wlug_trade). 

Rather than seek to increase the number of OT advertising related msgs on the
main list, I suggest we thank Ewen for the service, and for his efforts to
ensure the list doesn't get too sidetracked, which makes it & its archives a
more useful resource for people to resolve Linux related issues.
