hi installfesties, :-)
We have the following distros on CD:
- Ubuntu x86 Desktop 6.06 (50cds)
- Kubuntu x86 Desktop 6.06 (50cds)
I also have the following ISOs on my mini-tower I'm bringing:
- ISOs for the 2 CDs above.
- Redhat 9 i386 (for old boxes... will reach EOF this December)
- CentOS 4.2 i386 ServerCD.
- CentOS 4.2 i386 All CDs.
- Kororaa XGL Demo Live CD
And I'm downloading the following as I write this, in case anyone wants
them during the event.
- Xubuntu x86 Desktop 6.06.1 (good for older machines - eg: 128mb ram)
- Ubuntu amd64 Desktop 6.06.1
- Ubuntu x86 Server 6.06.1
- Ubuntu amd64 Server 6.06.1
The ISOs will be available on my mini-tower (called "bob"), and can be
downloaded from HTTP if desired. I will also be able to burn the ISOs to
CD when needed (48x writer).
These ISOs are here, for if they get requested, or if they are needed,
rather than as solutions we are actively pushing.
I've configured bob, to act as a NAT gateway (have installed 2
interfaces), and I have setup a caching proxy (5GB cache), so that you
can download updates for people, and not waste data, by downloading the
same stuff more than once. :-)
The HTTP proxy is transparent, but if you want to use an FTP server,
you'll need to setup the client to use bob's address as a proxy.
Fortunately, Ubuntu uses an http:// repository for nz updates, so no
configuration change will be necessary to download ubuntu updates. :-)
Also, can anyone tell me if the Ubuntu disk has all the software needed
to resize NTFS paritions without too much hassle?
If not, please suggest a suitable liveCD that does, and which is easy to
use, and I'll download it and burn some copies.
cheers,
