hi installfest team,
email from someone:
----------------
I was hoping to get some help installing NetBSD with KDE desktop at the
installfest on Saturday. I'm a computer science student at Victoria Uni
and have selected NetBSD/KDE as it mirrors the lab environment at the
university maths department. I want to get some experience with *UNIX*
and to be able to do coursework at home, so would also like to have a
full complement of development/documentation tools such as C/C++
libraries, Eclipse, Open Office, Latex, etc, so if you have any of these
that would be great, and if you don't - no problem I can get them
myself.
I have an Intel dual-core dell desktop (with Windows XP) and don't need
to repartition my drive as I just happen to have a spare 40 gig drive. I
would also like to be able to open either a windows session from UNIX or
a UNIX session from windows (virtual desktop?) although this is not
essential.
Well there's my wish list. Are you able to help? I am happy to download
any distros etc and bring them on a disk if you don't have them
available so let me know if that would be a help.
----------------
Is anyone here happy to try installing NetBSD, or should we give it a
miss, and try and get him to use Ubuntu? :-)
cheers,
