[wlug_org] Freedom Toaster for Installfest?

I was thinking that building a Freedom Toaster[1] would be a good way to
raise the profile of Linux, and a very convenient attraction at the next
Installfest. In fact, we could put Wellylug branding on it and send it to
conferences like Webstock as a cheap means of sponsoring various events.
The major cost is the enclosure; I expect the remainder of the components
to be relatively easy for someone to donate (I certainly can contribute
something on the order of the motherboard or hard drive). We can quite
possibly get some funding from Google or Canonical if no one wants to put
up the cash for the enclosure (of course, we may need to use their
branding...)
If we do get a Toaster built, we could get it installed into a public venue
for the rest of the year. I can imagine that one of the area schools or
possibly one of the malls would be interesting in hosting it between
installfests. (sticking it in Queensgate near a store that sells blank
media, for instance...)
Any thoughts?
