One of the things mentioned at this months meeting was that perhaps we
should put together a list of people in the group, their areas of
expertise and their willingness to help others when they have problems.
I have only been using Linux for about 2 years now, but can try and
offer others some assitance in the following areas:
* Coyote setup/install - (but not very knowledgable in the firewalling
area yet - hope to be soon!)
* Networking - having been involved wth networks for many years now aI
may be able to offer some help on various network problems and.or
questions.
I'd prefer questions to come via. the list than direct to my own email
address - what I would propose is that people post a question to the
list and if someone wants to 'pick it up and run with it' they can feel
free to email the questioner directly.
I'll try and get a write up of this months meeting done in the next few
days and post it on the website, but a breif summary for those who
didn't manage to get there was that we had about 12-14 people there,
mostly new faces. We had some discussuion on upcoming meeting topics and
presenters - the topic for next months meeting is 'Basic Linux File
Structure (or something like that anyway)' and this will be presented by
Glen (thanks Glen!).
There were a couple of other topics suggested (including PHP, GUI's and
customisation - and others that I can't remember) and a few people
offered themselves as presenters, which is very very appreciated!
Well tahts it for now, lets try and get a few people intro'ing
themselves on the list and telling us what they know about.
Cheers
Jamie
