You also have a choice of Opera, and Mozilla, however, I find Konquorer does 
everything I need, otherwise, I use Netscape.. (about once a week I come to 
a site that does not work on Konquorer)

yes, one I used that was fine wall called Xdownload. I got it from 
freshmeat. If you browes through there apps you should find it.

if you are talking about logging you into X, yes, it's because you had a 
setting ticked when you installed Mandrake 7.2

To resolve this, go to drakeconf on your desktop, then work through graphics 
configuration. You will find it asks if you want a user to be automagically 
logged in on boot.
