Mitel SME server (aka e-smith) would be good in this example.
A flawless, quick and easy install (which they all have been for me, so far)
would be a good demonstration to the principals, etc that linux is ready and
useable now.
I'm sure many of them see it (Linux) as an experimental thing that requires
the services of a full time, full on geek to keep it going.

My daytime job is repairing (Big Name Brand) PCs under warranty. A day or so
ago I was at an intermediate school in Wainuiomata. The teacher there was
very proud of his room full of (BNB) PCs, all running Windows2000 pro. No
doubt there was a Win2k server or two out back. The licensing costs of this,
even with the mallard initiative, would be a pretty large chunk of the
schools IT budget. I suggested to him that Linux was an option - he had no
idea that an alternative to microsoft even existed.
