[wellylug] Mandrake 9 CD's

I have both Redhat8 and Mandrake9 on my harddisk ready for net installs,
and shold be able to be installing 3 or 4 machines at the same time with
minimal slow down, in fact probably faster than a cdrom install.  I
could put any other distro on it as well if people would supply them.  

If we can get a venue with a reasonable connection to the internet, we
could also do firewall setup and testing as well.

I suggest we would need to plan to do it very soon as people will be
getting busy with christmas parties shopping etc.  Perhaps aim to cater
for 20 to 30 serious installs, with room for up to a hundred people.

We would have to advertise this very well.  If we can get a venue
confirmed by Tuesday next week, then Saturday the following week should
be the day.  Giving a whole week and some for getting the word out via
community papers, shop windows, word of mouth etc.

Just my thoughts, If any body has any better suggestions...


I think I might be able swing a sponsorship deal to cover venue hire, in
exchange for advertising rights, if this was okay buy all.  I would want
this to be a Wellylug event promoting Linux, so some banners and flyers
for the Wellylug should be there as well.
