[wellylug] file missing ?

Hi
I am told by a make that /usr/bin/ld can not find the file : Xpm
I have been told as well that it is coming with XFree86-devel-4.2.0-72.

A quick rpm -qa | grep -i Xfree tells me that I have  
XFree86-devel-4.2.0-10mdk (on a 8.2)
I guess It may be older than the 72 version and that may be the cause of my 
troubles.

So.........
Can someone confirm me that Xpm IS in XFree86-devel and which version it is ? 
Or if it is not part of Xfree-devel where can I get it....
