You may want to check out the Sharp Zaurus -

This is a device from Sharp, designed from scratch to run Linux. Similar
gadget to Palm, iPaq, et al. They take all sorts of addon gadgets - IBM
microdrives, compact flash & secure digital memory, wireless ethernet
(802.11b), camera, modem, USB port, etc.
Having said that I have no experience with one, but some people on gllug
(greater London) have reported them as most cool indeed!
