I used all the defaults in the install.  Anyway tried that now and got a
list of 24 names, some of which I recognise as videao card names or drivers,
like vesa.  Also things like apm, ati, vmware.  Also gave me a message about
the mouse not being operational which I don't know about because haven't had
the GUI up yet.
It told to run XF86 to check server.  Did so - got a bright blue screen with
an "x" in the centre, (cursor?) as moved with mouse.  I waited 2 minutes,
pressed "Esc", no response, "Ctrl+Alt+Del" and no response, so did a brutal
shutdown.
I am a newbie so very limited in what I know ...
