[wellylug] I have installed Linux Mandrake 9.1, Now what?

While agreeing with Rose about not switching distributions too easily,
I have another that you might care to look at. Its Lycoris (www.lycoris.com)
purely a desktop (no server functions) extremely easy to install and very
similar
to MS Windows in that it installs a basic system upon which to build.
Might be too close to Windows for the Linux purists ;-)
After downloading the .ISO I burned the Cd and started installing last night

at 10:30. At 11:05 I had a working system. This is a 566 P-III, 128 meg,
On board Voodoo3 and Ensoniq sound (old Packard Bell mobo),
Realtek network card. 2 1/2 gig disk. Everything was found and worked
straight away.
Even connected to my e-Smith server by clicking on the "My neighbourhood
network" icon.

This distro is sold by Wal-Mart in the US as a stock item and also as part
of pre-built systems.
There are very good reviews from various trade papers, etc at
www.lycoris.com/press

I'm planning on burning a few CDs to supply for the install fest. Anyone
want one please let me know.
Usual 2 for 1 arrangement should suffice

Peter
