NB: Transferring from LP can be problematic with a PC, even in Windows.
It will appear work fine, you grab the audio from the Line In on your
soundcard and record a .wav file, which you then burn to CD; but don't
expect it to sound all that great. Cheap soundcards may be 16 bit, but
often there are internal clipping and reprocessing algorithms that give
you effectively a 12 bit resolution. Also, you will need run the output
of your turntable through a decent RIAA preamp first, and both the
turntable and computer will also need to be properly earthed to
eliminate hum. You may find that you need to normalise the wav file
before burning it as it will be too quiet, which will further reduce
resolution. To do it properly without losing audio fidelity requires
shielded cables and expensive hardware...
