So I wanted a PCMCIA modem for my iPaq.

I bought a generic DSE one. I noticed that it specifically listed Linux
as a supported OS on the box. The driver CD (not that I needed it) has
OpenOffice.org on it. And when I confessed to the sales assistant that I
had spent last weekend putting Linux on my iPaq, she said "Ah, Linux. I
run Debian on my laptop at home".

The warm fuzzy feeling quite compensated for the blaring carols.
