Hi Damon,

Yeah, I like the internet faxing / voice mail service. But I do usually
send an email to confirm receipt...

What I like about maxemail is that they act as a forwarder from
phone/fax to email. When someone leaves me a message on my voicemail,
it is digitized and sent to me by email. If someone sends me a FAX, it
is forwarded to me by email (as a TIFF Fax formatted file, which
programs like xv can read just fine -- TIFF supports the Fax encoding
format, so I don't think the data is even decoded, it is just never
printed out). I can also send outgoing faxes. Not long ago I got a fax
from my grandfather because he doesn't understand email -- but I didn't
tell him that his fax was delivered by email anyway, as that would have
just confused him. :-)

It is great for traveling, because then I can just check my email and
get everything in one go. I also use paperlesspobox.com which acts as a
snail-Mail -> internet forwarder. Mail which is sent to my pobox gets
scanned and sent as a PDF (well, actually I have to log in and download
it - I configured it to only send notification when there is new mail).

Of course those are US based phone numbers and addresses, so they are
mostly useful for people in the US trying to contact you. I haven't had
cause to search for NZ based services.

regards,
Valient
