Hi Jamie,

There is a big difference between the motivation behind spam and the
aspirations behind the petition.  Hence, a different moral judgement
should be applied.  If your family members lived in Iraq you would have
reacted differently.

Having said that, the petition is in fact useless because there is no
way to uniquely identify the total number of names.  So in this specific
instance there is not much point besides awareness raising.
