[wellylug] sups and Epson Stylus ColorIIs

Hello all,
I am having problems getting my printer working in
Debian 3.0r1.
The printer works ok in Mandrake7.2 using cups but
when I try to use the same entry for the
/etc/cups/printers.conf  I get no results.
Using the webbased gui at localhost:631 tells me I
can't use URI parallel:/dev/lp1 address.
Reading my Rute manual just confuses me, it doesn't
have anything on cups anyway.
lpstat -v doesn't show a 'direct' option which
Mandrake appears to have.
It will queue items such as test pages etc, but the
printer gives no indication of receiving any info. Yes
it is turned on ;-)
