The problem is not with the /etc/hosts file (which has been fixed).
I think the "real" problem, so to speak, is probably found in:
/etc/sysconfig/network
That has a bunch of stuff in it. e.g. my work one is (only some of
which is relevant to Rose):
DOMAINNAME=int.dev-zone.org
NETWORKING=yes
DHCP_HOSTNAME=devnet.int.dev-zone.org
HOSTNAME=devnet.int.dev-zone.org
FORWARD_IPV4=false
NISDOMAIN=int.dev-zone.org
I suspect the DOMAINNAME and / or HOSTNAME value is wrong. Fix this,
and all should be set :-)
