[wellylug] mini ITX systems

If you are wanting speed the M9000 & M10000 are faster (using DDR RAM) but
the Eden versions (5000 & 6000) dont use CPU fans so run quieter. Also note
that the V series only have one IDE channel, so they are ok for just one or
two HDs. How much speed does a server really need? I had thought of
building a small server using the VE6000 and mirrors HDs.

They can be built in a really small box, governed more by how small you can
get the PSU. I am using a small 150W PSU to run a M9000, 3.5 60GB HD and a
notebook CDROM. Its in a box about A4 size and 10cm high. Reasonably
quiet - I need to quieten the PSU fan more.

Theres been some bitching in the forums about drivers for Linux, but thats
mainly for video & MPEG replay on the M. Nothing that should affect a
server. Try the forums at linitx.org or viaarena.com

cheers

Robin
