First off... Welcome, Kia ora and G'day Oz.
Which version of Mozilla are you using? There have been various known
memory leak problems with Mozilla so maybe an upgrade is due.
On the broadband issue, if you have Saturn running past your house
(usually a big thick black cable about 1 metre below the power cables)
then that is you best option as opposed to ADSL. You can get a
256Kb/128Kb connection with 5GB data for a reasonable price.
