Yes, and I think ego has a lot to do with this.  Some people feel a
sense of superiority over others with respect to their knowledge, skills
and experience, and make it known this is what they feel, instead of
responding with humility and in the spirit of service when others have
legitimate questions and needs.  Having said this I am often amazed at
the dedication of OSS folks who give a tremendous amount to others with
no expectation of getting anything back apart from the feeling of doing
it.  Their contributions are often amazing.

What I like a great deal about GNU / Linux / OSS is that there are
different approaches and we have the choice of which ones we embrace. 
Hopefully the unity within diversity will be enough to see it through in
the end.
