I don't use Mandrake, but SuSE fixed that some versions back. It's an issue
with having ppp insert correct routes and default routes into the routing
table when it starts up ppp0 I believe. Also, of course, it's your
responsibility to set up routes for those nets you wish to access via eth0
in preference to ppp0, if that is necessary for your LAN. Have a look at
route -n before and after dialling up.
