[wellylug] Major issue

Jamie

I completely understand and endorse your decision to cancel the
TelstraClear account.

Granted, there was an unpleasant side-effect, but after having had
months of persistent and costly problems with the company myself, in
your position I would have done anything to ditch their service, and sod
the consequences.

If anybody out there is considering a move to TelstraClear, I strongly
suggest you avoid them. If you're with them already, the cable internet
is nice, but I pray you don't have problems that force you to deal with
their call centre. And good luck if you ever want to leave -- it took
me months to get them to cancel my account and stop sending me bills.
Only CC-ing my letters to the Consumers Institute got action.

I'm not alone here -- a bunch of people I work with have had similar
problems.

Cheers
Tony

I have closed my personal account with Paradise.net due to their
increasing unreliability. The account deletion took place today but
there has been a mjor side-effect : The wlug at paradise.net.nz email
address has also been deleted I wil be seeking an alternative email
address with a better provider today (most likely Orcon) and will advise
when this has been done.
This will mean though that we wil have to update the email
address anywhere that it is published as at the moment we look like a
complete bunch of wallies.... thanks to Paradise.net!
it also concerns me that they may at any time also remove our
web-space so we may need to find alternative hosting for this as well.

	Jamie
