I know that experience. I updated to ximian's evo 1.4.4 at work, and it
freezes every-time it scans the imap server for new messages!
Mandrake's packages don't do that :)

My (windoze) workmates liked the gnome backgrounds and gdm photos I put
on my PC. Much better than their staid machines :)

Yup, urpmi is really cool.
BTW, it appears the transparent proxy problem now fixed (at either the
Mandrake or Paradise end of things). I'm happily downloading the ISOs
via bit torrent, using Paradise cable. It's running at approx 17kbs for
now, which is better than nothing!
