Yes It works fine if I load win98 on this machine I can connect to the
2nd machine no problem

This is my result
$ smbclient -L 192.168.1.100
added interface ip=192.168.1.101 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
session request to 192.168.1.100 failed (Called name not present)
session request to 192 failed (Called name not present)
session request to *SMBSERVER failed (Called name not present)
(and yes the IP address is correct)
Any clues?
