Okay, is the printer shared on windows?


If your running a firewall like zonealarm on the windows machine, it can
cause problems. It could also be the firewall on the linux pc, blocking
the packages.


Try this command:
smbclient -L <ip address>

It will show anything & everything connected to the host with that ip.
Check that the printer is there.
