Hi All...
Point taken...I was thinking about my clients that have desktop machines, not laptops. I guess that external modems are a pain for laptop users ( personally owning a laptop I know about this problem)...
Regards
Michael

I'm going to stir the pot a little here and say "Get Broadband (Cable or DSL)" and then you don't have to worry about modem drivers.
If you can't afford to get broardband or it is not offered in your area, I tell my clients who use linux to get an external hardware based modem, this saves all the problems.
As for modems, I'm keeping my D-Link 56k external for when I might need it. :-)
The problem is that people with laptops, don't really want to lug a external modem around the place.
