Hi Kadim,
A couple of suggestions from a fellow Mandrake user ;-)
1. When folks who are using less advanced distributions than
Mandrake tell you to use the command rpm -i example.rpm, use the
command urpmi example.rpm instead. urpmi is a more helpful
version of rpm, in that it tells you what other RPMs you may
have to install at the same time. See also a graphical version
of the program, rpmdrake.
2. If you are a member of Mandrake Club, you can get the Mandrake
packaged RPMs for the modem you are running. See
http://www.mandrakeclub.com for details on how to join it.
3. http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/ is a very handy site for setting
urpmi's list of package repositories
4. Likewise, Mandrake Club has a very comprehensive listing of
mirrors for Mandrake packages, with many more listings than can
be found at http://plf.zarb.org/~nanardon/
5. You can also get help from fellow Mandrake users at Mandrake
Club, in the forums sections.
Best wishes,
Damon
