[wellylug] 'parking' a terminal

Is it possible to somehow do the following:

I log in to my Linux box at home in the morning and start it doing some
downloading/compiling etc.Then go in to work, SSH in to my box at home (I
can already do this) then call up the same terminal session that I was
working on that morning at home to see how it is going, do further commands
etc.
I'm sure this must be possible in some way and would really like to know how
I can do it.

Hope this makes some kind of sense.
