Tony, as a member, asked a question of the LUG. People responded.
Frankly I can't see what the big deal is.

The LUG did not approach the business. The LUG didn't recommend
anything. I see no one claiming he did approach the business on behalf
of the LUG. Tony was asking as a user in a forum where it should be
okay to ask that kind of question.
Or do you see it differently?
The great irony for me here is that Colin was proposing rules a few
months ago to avoid precisely these confusions.
