You didn't "merely pose a valid question", you flamed the crap out of someone 
who expressed his differing opinion. If some people want to hide from 
politics, fine, but beating them over the head with it won't help anyone.

Personally I don't see what's wrong with a political discussion as long as it 
stays Linux related and, most importantly, CIVIL. Be prepared for someone to 
move the cheese. Eliminate "I can't believe it" from one's vocabulary.
