That's fine. However, it's not as if the two things you're comparing are as 
disparate as vegetarian cooking and electronic appliance maintenance.

Be realistic - if you joined a vegetarian cooking mailing list, you'd probably 
have to cope with a few people who are passionate about animal rights, 
interested in food allergies or who are anti-Macdonalds.
