it's not exclusively a linux problem either.
when new version of windows or MacOs or any other OS appears, it takes 
sometime before some manufacturers release update drivers.

Mandrake 10.0 was only offically released last week. Best advice might be to 
stick with 9.2 for a few more weeks.
