I'm suspicious of one of the HDD's. Once in
a while (after having faulted in a Linux-boot)
it will show up in BIOS POST as something that's
clearly not its model-number (looks like \~n's and
the like)... even though it's still giving DMA
errors with that drive unplugged ;\

I could provide a photo (jpeg) of the error from 
within Linux (no, I couldn't get that from a log
because the box just hangs there, never finishes
booting) (linux displays what the BIOS showed, too)
...
