I'm currently going through hell on Paradise's cable network.

It all started when my com21 based connection started reporting ~300ms
delay and ~50% packet loss.

The answer from TelstraClear was to replace this with a Motorola Docsis
based modem. This was duly done.

Since then the best connection I have managed is 128kbps (I pay for
2Mbps). I have spent over an 1.5 hrs on the phone and they still can't
fix it. I am now told I need to wait till monday.

what part of service don't they understand?
