I much prefer to look after my own desktop tahnk you very much!!!
At least then I can install programs of my choice and don't have settings
and programs dictated to me.

One thing that Cable companies are going to be doing with the better
network control is to start offering the desktop as a service. There are
a number of companies using the new low bandwdth SunRay features in the
just released 3.0 beta (refer:
http://wwws.sun.com/software/download/products/410ff85d.html ).
This allows the Telco to com in and install the modem and the SunRay and
then you get a full service desktop. Everything is stored and operated
at the Telco/ISP, if the unit breaks they just courier you a new one.
