[wellylug] Linux as an iHug "server"

Hi all

I'm totally new to Linux (haven't even it got it yet).  I want to know is it
feasible that I could setup a Intel based PC (with Linux) as a server for my
Win'98 & Win XP computers & also use it as a shared internet connection to
iHug's Ultra Satellite package (as I live too far from Jetstream service
etc).  If so what distribution would best suit?  Has anyone done this
themselves?  The more detailed instructions the better :)  I don't want to
spend too much time on configuration & problems.
