I am also a member of EDS internal Open Source group globally. 

The disadvantage of this (and probably many other) global organisation is
that there is considerable inertia to overcome for changes of this nature,
especially where there is a perceived requirement to continue support for
another vendor in case this company offends that vendor.

Funny old world really since EDS does support any vendor a customer
specifies but internally we are being driven to use only one - with all the
inherent risks and faults that course of action inherits.

Still we are progressing in interesting ways.

Seeing that Eagle & EDS are both partners of Sun the two of you should 
be lobbying to move to Sun's JDS where you get to use your choice of 
Evolution or Mozilla mail!
