It should be noted that chances are some people won't be able to make it
to the meeting.  Why should their opinion matter less than anyone
else's?

Given that there are many widely differing and strongly held opinions on
this matter, I think everybody deserves to make their feelings known,
whether or not it causes a bit more noise on the mailing list. [*]

If it should come down to a vote, I think that at the *very minimum*,
all active mailing list participants should have the chance to decide on
the future of the group, not just the people who make it to the next
meeting.

I myself have ony been to three or four of the meetings, however I post
to the list somewhat more regularly.  Does this make me less "memberly"
than somebody who attends every meeting but rarely posts to the list?


[*] Is it worth having a second list for issues to do with lug
"politics"?  I don't remember any high-traffic threads of this nature
beforehand, but there will no doubt be others
