This might seem a bit of a basic question but hopefully someone can shed
some light on it..
If you are using windows pc's to access files on a Linux box via samba and
you right click on a file and select properties you can make the file read
only. Next time you check the read only attribute it is unset again. Is
there no way to change the read only attribute and a samba shared file from
a windows pc without resorting to bodges like read only directories and
different user access levels?
thanks in advance
Mark
