Mandakre can make a nice server. it's still linux - and all the tools that 
make server life easy will run on mandrake - but the mandrake distro excels 
at desktop, and has a all the desktop tools out of the box. 

I use mandrake for development, but the actual production server is usually 
debian or solaris.
