Although Slackware is simple, it is far from complex to set up.  It was 
one of the first distros I ever used (after SLS - it was a while ago) 
and I keep on coming back to it for its simplicity and control.  You can 
select exactly what you want to be installed, without extra crud.  I 
have used it for everything from minimal installs, to servers without 
any (Slackware-caused) problems.
