Debian sounds like it would be worth a go. I run Debian Unstable, and
with the odd exception, it doesn't live up to it's name, being pretty
solid for my use at least. Apt makes everything so much easier, and
the range of architectures it runs on is also nice, being a PPC user
myself. With a low-end system it's great as you can handpick what goes
in very easily, keeping the system trim. The range of software is also
huge - I think there's over ten thousand packages in Unstable. The new
Debian Installer simplifies the installation process with hardware
detection (not that it was as hard as everyone makes out before) so go
check it out. :)
