i've had a seagate fail after 18 months, with only a 1 year warruny.
i told the retailer this was covered under consumer guaruntees, and if they
didnt' agree i'd see them at a disputes tribunal - hard drive was replaced
the next day..
These paid for warruntees are a con - your covered under law anyways.
