I think you assume 2.4 kernel,  but I'm using 2.6.5 ...

I followed   /usr/share/doc/cdrecord/README.ATAPI.setup  for 2.6*

but get

and similarly for -scanbus, although xcdroast works.

I am using the values in the example above for /etc/default/cdrecord.

'man cdrecord' seems to go on forever.

What am I missing here ?
